more 'false' reporting
What do we have here? A story that seeks to emphasize a non-existent rift between my Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and President Bush? No way! Where else, but in the mainstream press, could a scheduling conflict turn into a rift between two big time Republicans?
The President is going to be here in California tomorrow for the opening of a new wing of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and then later W's hanging out in Beverly Hills for an RNC fundraiser.
But, according to the AP, Governor Schwarzenegger is 'miffed' that Bush is here raising money just three weeks ahead of a statewide election which will largely determine the future of the state, as well as the political fortunes of Schwarzenegger, himself.
Arnold has a lot on the line with Propositions 74 (teacher tenure), 75 (paycheck protection), 76 (spending limits) and 77 (redistricting reform).
I'll tell you more about this stuff later. But, presumably, Arnold is 'angry' that the Bush and the Republicans are going to 'taking' money away from Californians when the Governor needs money to run expensive television spots to ensure the passage of the above propositions. I don't buy it.
I smell more bad reporting...

Arnold's own words:
"We would have appreciated if he would have done his fundraising after the November 8 election, because you know we need now all the money in the world," Schwarzenegger told supporters at his campaign event.
"We want to make sure that we win, that we can have our TV spots out there on television, which is very important," he said of the pricy advertising campaigns that require massive funding.
"I'll be back."
Sounds fairly accurate, though the characterization of a "cash clash" or "long standing tensions" are not supported by the piece. The real mistake is by Arnold even bringing this up. How much money could Bush possibly take out of Arnolds hands in a two day junket anyway? Its not a make or break campaign move to me.
