noisy
I love what President Bush calls the recent spate of events. 'Background noise.' That's exactly what it is. All of the developments lately, the objective press corps would have you believe is 'bad' for Bush. That somehow his Presidency is over and he has been rendered impotent by:The charges of cronyism with the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court;
The fact that Iraq has a brand, new, voter-approved Constitution;
High gas prices;
The bogus CIA leak investigation;
The bogus assertion that the President was caught slow footed in reacting to Hurricane Katrina;
The bogus 'legal troubles of Tom DeLay and Bill Frist;
Bush is Bush because he's unconcerned with the ebbs and flows of Washington. That one of many reasons he has been, and continues to be, such an effective President: He doesn't care what the press thinks and writes about him.

And I love that about him.
What is laughable is the statement that his Presidency is over. Welllllll, he's in his second term (which he will complete because he doesn't play with interns like Clinton does) and he can't run for a third term. So, what the hell is that supposed to mean anyway?
More Democrat slander to attempt to make you think that Republicans will vote blue in 2008. Ain't no way.
I agree with Melissa...Bush has some SERIOUSLY thick skin - and he never gets caught lashing out against those attacking him (which drives them completely NUTS!!!).
Background noise is right....I can't imagine what it must take to be President. These days, there is almost NOTHING a President can do right, and without being accused of crimes and immoralities of the most ridiculous levels.
I'll stick with my 9-5...
I can remember that one press conference or some kind of Q&A session before the last election, when some reporter asked Bush what he thought about stories appearing about him in the newspaper, and Bush responded something like: "I don't read the newspapers. You think you get news in the newspapers?" And the reporter was just gobsmacked...next question please!
The President of the United States is the one making the news. Why would he need to read about it?
