support your president
I am so tired of hearing all the Bush bashing. Everything the man does, according to many of you, is wrong. Strangely, many of you who now criticize the President, were ardent fans of the man just a few short months ago.
Make no mistake. The United States is at war. We are in the midst of World War III, but many of you are completely unaware. It is testament to the greatness of George W. Bush and his Administration that so many of you have become disenchanted with the White House. It is the high rate of success of the Administration that has allowed most of the country to forget about the all-too-real threats that America faces from the radical Muslims around the world.
It is precisely because of the counter-terrorism tactics undertaken by the Bush Administration that I am posting these comments tonight. Otherwise, Southern California, most certainly a prime target of al Qaeda, might very well be long gone.
The NSA wiretapping program? Totally 'warranted.' And forget the lies you have been told by the Leftist, biased American-in-name-only press corps, that tell you that the NSA and the Administration are conducting 'domestic wiretapping.' It's not true.
No WMD in Iraq? It's not true. They've already found a great deal of WMD in-country, and, of course, during the run-up to invasion, there was a six month window where we wasted time at the U.N., getting those worthless resolutions, when Hussein very logically (and easily) could have moved Iraq's weapons to Syria. And that American-in-name-only-press has not reported that claims by a former Iraqi general, Georges Sada, who charges just that in a new book, "Saddam's Secrets."
Everything occurring on the ground today-- in 14 out of 18 provinces--in Iraq is mostly positive. But good news isn't particularly sexy news and nothing that could ever be defined as 'good news' for President Bush will ever be reported. Sad but true. All the business, all the jobs created, all the women who now can work and go to school and vote, all the optimism of the Iraqi people for the future, none of it is ever reported by the 'objective' American media.
Forget that bogus story about the Federal Government's response to Hurricane Katrina being 'slow,' because that isn't true, either. The bad preparation, the slow reaction, the poor decisions made on the ground in Louisiana is the reason that New Orleans was decimated by the storm.
I have three words for all of you who believe that Katrina was Bush's fault: Alabama and Mississippi.
All of these erroneous stories being told, is it really a surprise that the President is unpopular and hovering around 40% in opinion polling?
Which brings me to another story--those pesky, faulty, dishonest polls. When one of the news organizations releases a poll, it is very important that you, before taking the poll seriously, determine whether or not the poll was taken with a fair, representative sample of likely voters. Most polls tilt the sample heavily to one side or the other, which means from the start that the poll results will be skewed to one particular view or another. And most polls sample registered voters, not LIKELY voters. That is a big difference because it is the likely voters who vote. The registered voters? Not so much.
Not that President Bush much cares about any of this crap. He's doing his job--a great job. He's got little to no interest in what anyone thinks of him, which I find totally refreshing. He's not a politician.
The bottom line, as I see it, is that in this time of international unrest, it is extremely important that every American supports President Bush. I don't care if you personally disagree with the man or his policies. The fact is, dissent at this time, while important, can (and should) be done privately. When you or anyone you know publicly rips Bush, it weakens us in the eyes of the international community. And, most importantly, in the eyes of our enemies.
If you aren't behind Bush and your country in this time in our history, then it means that you are against Bush, against your country, against your troops. It's very simple and true. And it's not debatable.
There's plenty of time to debate the merits of policy, the opinion of war, the opinion of Administration policy. But not now. If you are a Bush critic, understand that you are being anti-American and that you are very much aiding and abetting our enemies around the world.
Supporting your President at this time doesn't necessarily mean that you support each and every policy the President advocates. It simply means that you support your country, your troops, your way of life. It also means that you are being a good American.
Support your President.

Nice.
Uhhhhhhhh. You seem like a nice, well spoken, and hopeful person. I'll just politely disagree and pray we are not in WWIII.
Good morning,
If one were to look at "bashing" in general, we would see, in the aggregate, FAR more bashing applied to:
1.) All liberals
2.) Any Democrat
3.) Any Republican who doesn't toe the line.
So the whiny fucks who invented bashing now demand that we support Bush (who I have never called a President, and never will) because of the invasions and occupations Bush started and is failing to finish, along with raping the treasury, and destroying America's standing in the world.
Oh, and that little problem with ignoring 9/11 until after it happened.
I got a whiff of satire in this post, but I think it's seriously telling me to ignore decades of bashing the left, and to be nice so you can bash us some more.
Not gonna happen.
Liberal blogs are the last outpost of free speech, unspun and unbought and unbowed.
Nice try.
Thank you Kathleen. You seem like a lovely person. But, sadly, I must inform you that the United States is currently fighting WW III. The first shots were fired at the U.S.S. Cole back in December of 2000. And it is a war we, and the rest of the world, will be fighting for a very long time. Disagreeing with reality does you no good.
What exactly do you think has been going on in Afghanistan? In Iraq? We are fighting a multiple front war. And forty other nations are fighting along with us, side by side. What is causing you, Kathleen, to be so blind? Certainly the things you are reading aren't providing you with relevant information. I hope you'll visit me more often.
James, to be 'Liberal' one must be open-minded, tolerant and receptive to other points of view. Today the Democrats are neither truly Liberal, nor are they progressive, as they repeatedly seek to advance a status quo agenda.
Liberalism isn't reality-based. I didn't like Bill Clinton, but he certainly was my President for eight years, just as George W. Bush has been your President since 2001. That you choose not to accept that fact as reality speaks volumes about your intellect, your way of life, and your capacity to function.
Your other assertions are equally clouded. 'Raping the treasury'? The Federal Gov't ran a surplus in February. Oops. Guess you missed that.
'Destroying America's standing in the world'? Oops. I guess that's why millions of people from countries around the globe strive so hard to come here.
As to your 'ignoring 9/11' comment, Bush, at that point, had been in office for eight months. What did Clinton do about bin Laden, al Qaeda, Saddam Hussein and global terrorism for the eight years he was in office?
James. Forgive me, but you are dumb.
RE: the bashing remark. I don't really bash Liberals. Truth-telling is different from bashing. I constantly expose the phony and unrealistic policies they promote. I expose people on the Left as being idiots for the things they say and wrong in what they purport to believe. Like a dog eating it's own vomit, the Left keeps troting out the same old, tired, failed ideology. No wonder they lose elections.
Daily Kos, the most widely read Liberal blog is full of paid advertising, so you may want to rethink your belief that 'Liberal blogs are unspun and unbought.'
Glad you appreciated my 'try.' Stick around. Pop your head in here periodically and learn about the world you've been missing. I'll be more than happy to keep you informed.
Kent,
The WWIII did not start in 2000, it goes back a lot further than that. Even before the WTC bombing. It has its roots under Jimmy Carter but that's a rant for a different day. It is, however, a WAR and I just do not know what it's going to take for some people to "get it". A safe could fall on their heads and they would still take no notice. In one breath they swear that Bush is the evil calculating puppetmaster, forcing his agenda on the world. In the next breath, he's a bumbling idiot who couldn't find his ass if it had a bell on it.
I give Bush high marks for his execution of the war. I think it would be progressing more effectively if he weren't trying to appease the leftist sympathizers as much but I won't fault him for that.
As far as his domestic policy, though, I've been very disappointed. Spending is enormous, surplus or not. Border security is a joke.
Otherwise, I'm with you.
Good comments Will.
You are absolutely correct when you mention the true start of WWIII was around the time of Jimmy Carter. The worst President in American history--and a Democrat. He's the reason why Muslim extremism exists in the first place. Thanks to Carter's weak leadership and lukewarm support of the Shah of Iran, the radicals took over and took (and kept) American hostages for 444 days. It took the swearing in of Reagan for them to be released.
It continued under Clinton. The second worst President in American history--and a Democrat. He never visited the WTC after the first bombing in 1993, leaving the impression that America was 'a paper tiger.' Clinton pulled us out of Somalia in defeat and disgrace, he never responded to the embassy bombings, to the Cole, he refused bin Laden's head on a platter from the Syrians, because of concerns over 'jurisdiction,' and is single handedly responsible for 9/11.
To James Raven:
I'm not a fan of the personal attack, but I can't resist in this case.
You are a child.
You do not recognize Bush as President?
What reality, pray tell, do you ascribe to?
(And this is not a "drive-by" comment; I dare you to start in with me)
http://philosofix.blogspot.com/
Like I said, your post demanded that I ignore the constant drumbeat of liberal/Democrat- bashing for decades, and stay quiet while you keep doing it. It won't matter what I say in response to your personal attacks, because I won't drink the Kool-Aid and parrot the Rush/Mehlman spin of the day, so it makes your heads explode. Good.
Like I also said, Liberal blogs are the last outpost of free speech, unspun and unbought and unbowed.
Maybe you should a.) try to avoid the first interest you list in your profile, it shows in your thinking, and b.) keep more people away from your blog by having a bogus URL as "My Web Page."
And, for the record, DU had nothing to do with the list of instances of "recent surge in violence" that I linked to on The Psychotic Patriot. Had you bothered to click the link, you would have noticed that every instance had a source, unlike any of the... erm... "facts" you toss around so blithely here.
I do appreciate the opportunity to recharge my liberal batteries with a rare troll on my comments, but I guess I started it, didn't I?
Good.
"Start in with you?" You already shot your wad, Jaz. Nothing to start with.
James,
First, I appreciate your time commenting on my blog. You are welcome here anytime.
With all due respect, I'm not really sure where you get this mantra of 'bashing on Liberals.' For the purposes of this post, 'Support Your President,' I said simply that I was 'tired of all the Bush bashing.' I never 'demanded that you ignore the constant drumbeat of Liberal/Democrat bashing.'
I never mentioned it. I don't care about Liberals. They aren't relevant to the dialogue because they have made themselves irrelevant by spewing tripe since 2000.
As I also mentioned, Liberal blogs are hardly 'unspun and unbought,' especially Daily Kos. Kos has the most widely-read blog, which is full of paid advertising. Also, Kos himself is now a PAID CONSULTANT TO THE DNC. So the idea that Kos is somehow 'unspun and unbought' isn't a credible claim and you do yourself a disservice by being ignorant of that fact.
Maybe you should have a drink, Buddy. Really. It might help. In terms of 'Democratic Underground' my point earlier on your blog was that if you are listing them as a credible source of information about anything speaks volumes about your position. Whether or not they 'have links' as you suggest isn't really the point. 'D.U.' is about as factually based as Michael Moore, the Huffington Post, MoveOn.org, George Soros or the DNC. Which is to say, at best, NOT VERY. Any links to and from 'D.U.' are fatally contaminated and are not to be taken seriously by anyone with a brain.
As I said, JR, you are always welcome here. I welcome the debate. But watch out for Jaz. He's quite the bulldog.
Good morning. First let me introduce myself as a scientist of the rocket and ballistics type who is not a right or left, I am above. In addition I own a gas suckin 4X4, lots of guns, smoke 2 packs a day and I'm a 5th generation Texan who has hated GWB from the time he was the governor.
What I care about is liberty. I believe in the fundamentals of the bill of rights and believe that if I want to dive head first into a Tony Montana size mound of cocain on a stripper's tits who is my 4th wife, leave me the fuck alone to give stem cells from a monthly abortion of one of my wive's. I don't do this, but fuck off if I want to.
I could go into the logical fallacies of your argument, but there is just not enough time, let's just say that if you knew anything about logic, you would be embarrassed. Enough of that. Here is the MAIN problem with you thinking:
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
The last of the five is what your are asking, on the verge of demanding, that we voluntarily give up. Now let's go back to say Ben Franklin, uberpatriot. He is quoted saying something like this "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Now if you say that Franklin was not a patriot, I pity you.
And jaz, I am not starting anything with you, for I will not debate an unarmed person, but in one of your short posts I quote you with:
"You are a child."
"I dare you to start in with me"
and I got to tell you that this looks pretty childish.
Kent, if you believe in this war so much, are you a reservist? Have you been to Iraq? If not, what are you waiting for? If so, I give you praise.
Cheers,
Jessifu
