Francine Busby really is quite remarkable. She continues to tell anyone that will listen that illegals don't 'need papers' to vote only to be corrected by an aide that she doesn't really mean to say what she's been saying since last Thursday, after all.

All this so-called 'Democratic' double-speak is almost confusing.

My thought is maybe -- just maybe -- she's not such a bad person after all. She seems to want to tell the truth, but no one from her campaign will allow it.

More to the point, poor old Francine is nothing more than the sock puppet of the DNC, a frumpy soccer mom with a gift for gab and an endearing shoulder shrug. She's your next door neighbor. She's also a complete lightweight.

I noticed today that the Busby campaign has been funding the campaign of a guy named William Griffith, the independent candidate in the race who has been endorsed by the San Diego Minutemen. That means that the Democrats have very little confidence in Francine's ability to reach the 50% mark in tomorrow's election. Apparently they believe that in order to win they have to steal conservative votes away from Bilbray by confusing the public.

Platforms and policies. Character and values. What matters more?
