Many of the Democrats who won did so because they embraced conservative values. These elections have ironically amounted to a reaffirmation not a repudiation of conservative principles. Many Republicans who are now out failed to live up to their conservative obligations, and it was the "Blue Dog" Democrats and centrists like Lieberman who attained success.
