against it after they were for it

You've heard of 'Musical Chairs'? The Democrats are playing 'Musical Positions' with America's national security.
Said John Kerry, 2005: "We don't have enough troops in Iraq. We cannot fail, and if it requires more troops in order to create the stability that eliminates the chaos, that can provide the groundwork for other countries, that's what we have to do."

Said Joe Biden, 2005: "They're going to need a surge of forces."

Said Republican Senator Chuck Hagel: "[Americans] should "speak with one voice."

Said Democrat Harry Reid, 2002: "If the commanders on the ground said [the troop surge] was just for a short period of time, we'll go along with that."
Now that the President has come around to their way of thinking, the Democrats hate the idea of a troop surge.

Hell, if they were smart they'd embrace Bush's strategy shift as a win for them. They could jump up and down like bratty children and say "See? We told ya so!"
