a good deed

The Fox News Channel is reporting that President Bush has commuted Scooter Libby's prison term.

This is the correct decision. Anyone familiar with the facts of this case knows this is a good decision. After all, Libby isn't a pedophile a drug dealer or a tax cheat. By all accounts he is a good, decent, honorable public servant. You won't see W hit Scooter up for a donation to his Presidential Library.

That being said, as it stands now, however, Libby still pays a stiff $250,000 fine and will remain on two years probation, the victim of a political witch hunt.

An outrage. Fitzgerald and the MoveOn.org crowd were hoping to get Cheney or Rove, but they got Libby instead, a guy who couldn't remember the order in which he spoke to particular reporters.

Even more outrageous is the fact that liars Joe Wilson and Richard Armitage, the guys who should have been charged in this case for outing Valerie Plame, still haven't been charged with anything.
