stir it up

I'll admit that it sounds chilling to hear things like "First Amendment speech and press rights may also be subordinated to the overriding need to wage war successfully," but much less so when you trust a President and his team.
President Bush had my complete trust because he earned it. He never leaked or released national security secrets. In fact, Bush's methods, whether you agreed with them or not, protected the nation.
President Obama does not have my trust and this transparent attempt at 'transparency' is a big reason. How does this release of previously secret national security memos help the United States? What purpose does it serve? What good does it do, besides satisfy the nutty Left?
The truth of it is that Bush wasn't breaking the law. He didn't lie. But the press said he did and they said he was. Obama is weakening the law. Obama is lying. But the press won't report that he is and they won't report that he did.
Things are all screwed up. They hated the guy who kept us safe for eight years but they love the guy who continues to do everything within his power to get us all gased, nuked or killed in the next four.
From my perspective, this is yet another signal that Obama is weak and ineffectual. He's inviting terrorism back to our shores. I fear that America is going to have to suffer another collossal attack at the hands of radical Muslims to reminded of the realistic nature of the threats.
More than anything else, the election of 2008 was the official pronoucment that America, led by the slim Obama majority, has lost the nerve to fight, the nerve to protect ourselves after only eight years. How pathetic.

The Left tried eight years to come up with a rock-solid case of civil rights violations under Bush. The best they could come up with was warrantless wiretapping (which the 9/11 Commission said would have prevented 9/11 if applied correctly), and Gitmo. My feelings on the latter are clear - if you were caught on a battlefield with a gun and no uniform, and you're still breathing, then some soldier did not do his job correctly (line up the sight picture . . . squeeze the trigger . . . rinse and repeat).
Everything they accused Bush and Cheney of was bullshit. And we can prove it.
Nobody cares about protecting the nation anymore. It's frustrating.
Informed Americans know that the previous administration did their best to protect the country. And we know that the current administration is doing everything they can to make us a weak, deaf, dumb, blind target again.
