Andrew McCarthy thinks the Afghanistan mission isn't clear. It's hard not to agree.

Obama and the Democrats have been calling it 'the war of necessity' for as long as I can remember, even though all the bad guys were busily de-stabilizing Iraq.

Now that they are in the Majority, it's amazing how quickly the Left have turned into Chickenhawks. Now that there's no more Bush to kick around the Democrats don't have the stomach for war. They never cared much about national security or counter-terrorism, anyway.

Regardless, whatever General McChrystal says he needs for the mission, he should get.

I'm glad that you're coming around on this basically. The war effort is only as good as the person commanding it.

Which in this case isn't McChrystal.

The ultimate responsibility for prosecuting the war falls to... Barack Obama.

I don't need to say much more.
