We're hearing and learning things about Obama's appearances at the United Nations and the G20 last week from the French.

Apparently, President Sarkozy wanted to present a united front against Iran last Thursday @ the UN, but was told by the White House that the goal was not to "spoil the image of success" of Obama's first appearance at the UN.

So much for 'nonproliferation.'

Sarkozy was then forced to whitewash his speech so that Obama, a day later in Pittsburgh, could deliver the blockbuster news of Iran's "secret facility to build bomb-grade fuel."

The time, if serious about containing Iran and preventing dangerous conflict between Iran and Israel, was last week at the UN, not Friday at the G20. Obama, big Liberal talker, weak, feckless leader. Fail.

Said Sarkozy:

"We are right to talk about the future. But the present comes before the future, and the present includes two major nuclear crises. We live in the real world, not in a virtual one.

"We say that we must reduce. President Obama himself has said that he dreams of a world without nuclear weapons. Before our very eyes, two countries are doing exactly the opposite at this very moment. Since 2005, Iran has violated five Security Council Resolutions . . .

"I support America's 'extended hand.' But what have these proposals for dialogue produced for the international community? Nothing but more enriched uranium and more centrifuges. And last but not least, it has resulted in a statement by Iranian leaders calling for wiping off the map a Member of the United Nations. What are we to do? What conclusions are we to draw? At a certain moment hard facts will force us to make decisions."

And why is our President suddenly inserting himself into the Olympics host city process? More self-aggrandizement. It's already a done deal, otherwise he wouldn't be going to Copenhagen.

This was the best thing that happened at the UN this week. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is a classy, strong, determined leader.

How unnecessary and irrelevant is the United Nations? Three long days of largely empty, meaningless speeches by our President and other unseemly, rogue dictators and for what? Nothing was accomplished, nothing was gained, nothing changed for the people of the member countries.

All of this UN stuff is a colossal waste of time, and more importantly, money. America's UN-membership dues should be used for a better purpose than membership in a blowhard, masturbatory, self-congratulating debating society.

By the way, I agreed with Obama when he spoke about other countries helping to solve the world's problems. That was his shining moment. His worst moment: (1) Claiming the illegitimacy of Israeli settlements? Not only do I disagree with that idea, but using it in rhetoric in front of a bunch of Jew haters @ the UN to get a hearty round of applause? Shameful. And (2) this business of world equality, where no nation is better than another... It might not sound as bad had Obama not already spent the better part of eight months in office on his apology tour.

American Presidents should be the biggest American cheerleaders, not critics.

I find Obama particularly galling and stupid today, given that his choice to kill the missile defense shield comes on the 70th anniversary of the Russian invasion of Poland.

First the Census Bureau severed ties with ACORN, then an undercover video exposed ACORN offices in Baltimore, Washington DC and New York City promoting tax evasion and prostitution.

Now, the Senate just voted 83-7 to strip federal housing funds to the criminal enterprise ACORN, President Obama's former employer.

The amendment, HR 2355, introduced by GOP Senators Mike Johanns (R-NE) and David Vitter (R-LA) will prevent "direct or indirect federal funds under the FY 2010 Transportation-Department of Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill" from going to ACORN.

Said Sen. Johanns:

“Until a full investigation is launched into ACORN, no taxpayer money should be used to fund its activities. A vote in favor of my amendment is a vote in favor of the taxpayer and a vote against the status quo.”

Obama owes his election to ACORN. They were the community activists that got out the vote in 2008. One of the first things Obama did as President was give billions of tax payer dollars to ACORN.

Obama + Democrats = ACORN.

WaPo claims the crowd numbers only in the "tens of thousands."

The Left wing Media Matters is taking Fox News Channel and Glenn Beck to task for promoting The 9/12 Project. A news release spouts "Fox News now routinely engages in political advocacy against the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress."

So what? ABC news, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NY Times, LA Times, USA Today, Chicago Trib, Seattle PI, AJC, Detroit Freep, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, WaPo and virtually every other big city daily newspaper in America "routinely engages in political advocacy for the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress."

Dan Froomkin @ HuffPo has a post that just makes me laugh, although I don't think he intended it to be comedy.

"A Turning Point for Obama," heaps praises upon the Magic Negro simply for showing up last night. (Like BO would ever miss an opportunity to give a speech.)

"What is now more obvious than ever is that Obama is not a traditional liberal. Yes, he shares a lot of liberal values -- and he expressed that more clearly and passionately last night than perhaps ever before -- but when push comes to shove, he cares more about finding common ground than pretty much anything else."

I'd really like to know what evidence there is that the President 'cares' about bipartisanship. People talk about it all the time, they talked about it during the campaign, but I've never seen one thing Obama's ever done that was bipartisan.

"Obama robustly addressed what had been the biggest flaw of his [health care] strategy so far. The problem with his consensus-building, community-organizer approach to making policy -- whether you like it or not -- is that it simply doesn't work if there isn't even an agreement about basic facts, or if some of the people in the room aren't negotiating in good faith."

An "agreement about basic facts"? The White House is ignoring the basic fact that the American people don't want health care reform as it is currently being proposed, as it's currently written. The majority of Americans don't want to change our health care system.

America already has the best health care system in the world, so ObamaCare isn't a priority. People are still freaked out about the economy, people are losing their jobs or they are already unemployed. We're still fighting two wars, as a country, we're focused on stuff that is way, way, way more important that something that doesn't even require fixing.

Sigh. Liberals just don't get it. I know they want to ram this thing through so they can grab power and control all of our lives, but maybe they should have been smarter about it.

I can't even believe how absurd this paragraph is. Why didn't they edit this part out? Blind partisan alert, blind partisan alert. Froomkin's got a wicked man crush on Obama. Coming down firmly on one side or the other isn't in Obama's DNA because he's a poll obsessed politician who doesn't want to commit, doesn't want to get boxed in, to one position.

But wait, but wait. I saved the best Froomkin for last. This is simply unbelievable.

"The biggest challenge for Obama at this point, however, is the press. Will his speech be a game-changer as far as the coverage is concerned? The press is a challenge for Obama? How? He gets softball coverage. The press never asks him probing questions. Remember Jeremiah Wright? What about Bill Ayers? Tony Rezko? Rashid Khalidi? How can a guy with smarmy associations like Obama has be elected President of the United States? Softball press coverage.

Obama supposedly was a brilliant constitutional lawyer, yet he never produced any noteworthy scholarship? Not a word about that in the press, not a single report or expose, during the entire campaign. How does a guy without a resume get elected President? How does that happen? It happened because the press LOVES Obama. They will not report any type of news that reflects badly on BO. What the hell is Froomkin talking about?

The press has been dutifully NOT reporting what government-run health care is and what it does and how it works and what happens to people solely dependent on the federal government for wellness.

This is a big part of why people are so angry about the attempt at ObamaCare. There's been no reportage on the truth about waiting lists and the rationing and the sub-standard care associated with government-run health care systems in Britain and Canada. The American press doesn't report the legions of foreigners that come to America every year seeking skilled, specialized American health care.

The press is Obama's main ally in ObamaCare. If the media was really doing it's job, reporting the true specifics of the various Congressional plans, all efforts at "Democratic health care reform" would have been dead in the water a long time ago.

oversampling

According to a CNN poll, support for ObamaCare jumped 14 points after the President's speech to a joint session of Congress.

The problem? The poll oversampled Democrats by a whopping 45%-18% margin. How's that for a representative sample?

"The sample of speech-watchers in this poll was 45 percent Democratic and 18 percent Republican. Our best estimate of the number of Democrats in the voting age population as a whole indicates that the sample is about 8-10 points more Democratic than the population as a whole."

In other words, CNN is admitting this poll is inaccurate, irrelevant and meaningless. It's so biased why even report the findings of the poll?

My guess about Obama's health care speech? It's not going to move the needle as they say. I think people's minds are made up. August was the death of ObamaCare. Hopefully.

The White House is concerned that Libya's Muammar Gaddafi might "upstage" President Obama at the UN later this month when Obama becomes the first American President to chair the 15 member nation Security Council at the 64th session of the UN General Assembly.

On tap, debates on nuclear weapons, specifically regarding Iran, Middle East peace and climate change. Apparently Gaddafi and Obama are scheduled to address the General Assembly on the same day and they might "cross paths." Oooh.

The Baltimore ACORN office has been caught on video advising an undercover couple about cheating the IRS while running a prostitution ring. One ACORN staffer told the woman to cite 'performance artist' as her occupation. ACORN also urged the couple to list underage prostitutes from El Salvador as "dependents" on their tax returns.

So far, only two ACORN employees have been fired.

What does it say about the lapdog Republican Party that we force a Congressman to apologize for free speech?

I don't give a damn about one-sided Congressional decorum. I want the Republicans to stand up and defeat any and all plans for government run health care. I want a Party that is going to represent me in Washington and fight for what is good and right and decent and Constitutional. Instead, they are more concerned with bipartisanship and decorum and civility.

The Democrats booed and hissed at President Bush all the time, even during a State of the Union address and nobody cared about decorum. The Democrats called Bush a liar, a moron, an idiot for eight long years. And it was all just wonderful example of First Amendment free speech.

The Democrats can say whatever they want, whenever they want, regardless of the forum. They call their opponents 'Nazi's,' 'Tea Baggers,' 'Fascists,' and it's perfectly okay. But one little unknown Congressman from South Carolina questions the veracity of a frequently fact-challenged President it somehow 'demeaned the institution.'

Congressman Wilson had every right to voice his opinion last night and the fact is, Obama's health care plans don't make much sense. Insuring 40 + million new people, not raiding Medicare, increasing options & competition AND cutting costs all @ the same time? Impossible. It's all a damn lie. And the American people don't want it.

Another Obama speech tonight. This, after an Obama speech yesterday. That, after eight long months of speeches by a President that clearly enjoys the spectacle, the attention and the sound of his own voice.

To the kids yesterday, he sounded like a President. I didn't have a problem with anything he said. But he changed the speech.

Obama was going to give a completely different speech, one that was going to challenge America's school children about specific ways that they, themselves, could 'help' the President and his agenda, but angry parents began complaining about indoctrination, and rightfully so.

Tonight, the President has promised to finally get specific about his health care plan in a joint session of Congress. (His second since taking office) But from what I've read this afternoon he says nothing new in the speech. "Americans will die if health care reform isn't passed"? Really? That's his argument?

Either way, the House Democratic Whip says the Dems don't have the votes to pass ObamaCare.

The NYT makes a lot of incorrect assumptions about President Bush. I realize it's an op-ed, but this is from the Times' editorial board. I don't have to agree with their sentiments but they shouldn't be telling provable lies.

"The Obama administration has taken important steps toward repairing the grievous harm that President George W. Bush did to this nation with his lawless and morally repugnant detention policies."

They're talking about Gitmo and they get it completely wrong. Gitmo is far from being "lawless."

What "grievous harm" did Bush do to the country? He protected America, he killed terrorists and he bent over backwards to get along with the turbo partisan Democrats. Yet, the Times asserts that the former President "trampled on human rights, civil liberties and judicial safeguards," a familiar complaint from the Left.

None of these claims has ever been proven, merely asserted, ad nauseam.

A lot of Conservatives, George Will, chief amongst them, are now arguing that we should pull out of Afghanistan, ceding ground to the Taliban.

I disagree. Killing terrorists very much continues to be in the national security interests of the United States. Can we really afford to allow terrorists to gain strength, to plot and plan against us again?

Obama seems to get the importance of Afghanistan, speaking about 'necessity,' although he never speaks about the war effort. I support him but wish he would speak more about the challenges ahead.

2. Make insurance portable, competitive and cheap.
3. Cover pre-existing conditions.
4. Vouchers for the poor to buy their own health coverage.

Do all of the above and health care will be reformed.

My guess is that you've never heard of Van Jones. He's President Obama's un-elected, unaccountable Czar on green jobs.

I suspect you might never have heard of Jones because there's been a near media blackout on the man. But there's no media bias, right?

I only know about Jones because of Glenn Beck, who seems to be doing the job of the national press in informing and educating Americans about their government. That's not to say that I endorse Beck or everything he says. But certainly, this Jones guy is interesting.

Yes, of course, I know all presidents have Czars. Czars are fine, usually. But, Obama has named a bunch of radicals to these czar positions. People like Jones, who claim (above) that white corporations have "poisoned black communities." Jones has also compared President Bush to a drug addict.

Bottom line? Van Jones is a racist hater who should have no place working in the White House.

Obama's Science Czar John Holdren favors population control and forced abortions. He was on David Letterman this week and Letterman was ripping Bush for ignoring science. It was pathetic, but I digress...

Obama's Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein wants to ban hunting in America and believes animals should have the right to sue human beings.

And what about Harold Koh? Koh is not a Czar, per se, but he's the legal advisor to the State Department, who in the past has advocated Sharia law (or, Muslim law) being practiced in some instances in the United States. Koh also is a self-pronounced fan of the "transnational legal process," in which international law replaces American law.

Why are all of these Obama appointees so virulently anti-American? All we can do is be aware.
