modern washington

Thirteen different ethics violations, from essentially taking bribes to failing to pay taxes for eight years. And Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is building for himself what amounts to a presidential library, the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service, to "preserve the work of his public life."

"The most ethical Congress in history" is one of the biggest collection of liars, frauds, crooks and hypocrites I've ever seen in 37 years of following politics.

You know it's bad (and an election year) when your fellow corrupt, criminal, scumbag colleagues, who generally support each other through thick, thin and indictment, are telling you to pack it in.

Obama says Charlie should retire with his dignity.  What dignity?

The committee investigating Rep. Maxine Waters's (shown) ties to a local bank could announce its next steps before recess. | AP Photo

And speaking of not having any dignity, the racist scumbag Maxine Waters (D-CA) is under investigation.

liberals are children

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY). Poor baby. Nobody voted for his pathetic little bill so he threw a tantrum.  Typical.

shameless liars

When the economy grew at 2.4% in 2007, the minority Democrats savaged Bush and called it a recession.

When the economy grew at 2.4% in 2010, the majority Democrats claim they've created a million jobs.

The Obama administration is an affront, an insult to the intelligence of smart people.

Consumers are spending less. Is it any wonder why that is? People are unemployed, taxes are going up, the government is ruling against the will of the majority of the country, ramming unpopular legislation through Congress with highly partisan votes.

Bring on November. I'm ready to vote.

Thursday, July 29

I think it degrades the office of the President of the United States to go on a television show like "The View."

It's about as unseemly as it gets for the leader of the free world (although, how free can we really be when we're shackled by government-run health care, 10% unemployment and high taxes?) to lower himself to gaggle with Behar, Goldberg and the gals?

Maybe I'm just old enough to remember when the Presidency was admired and respected? That was obviously before the time of Obama when the highest office in the land was reserved for decent and respectable men of achievement and qualification.

Wednesday, July 28

This photo is a great example of the demagoguery of the Left. As if the land of the free, the home of the brave, free education and health care for non-citizens is a Nazi state?

Yes, a Left-leaning, Clinton-appointed Judge has predictably blocked portions of Arizona's SB 1070. Now disallowed:
• Requiring a police officer to make a reasonable attempt to check the immigration status of those they have stopped;
• Forbidding police from releasing anyone they have arrested until that person's immigration status is determined;
• Making it a violation of Arizona law for anyone not a citizen to fail to carry documentation;
• Creating a new state crime for trying to secure work while not a legal resident;
• Allowing police to make warrantless arrests if there is a belief the person has committed an offense that allows them to be removed from the United States.
And as amazingly stupid as that is, even more ridiculous is the reaction today of the ACLU (who continues to misrepresent the law as "asking for papers") and the nation of Mexico, who joined in the Federal lawsuit against Arizona.

Not only is the Federal government now stepping on the rights of a State, they are manipulating our laws to pacify the whims of a foreign country.

Love that 'hope' and 'change.'

obama sucks

If Maureen Dowd (of the God-awful New York Times) is criticizing a Liberal black President, (On race, no less) you know he (the Magic Negro)  is in deep, deep trouble.

To say nothing of the fact that he's going on The View, a new low for an American President. (Gotta shore up the stupid, uninformed women, I mean 'The Base.')

the real world

Finally, I have an Obamacare experience to share. My own.

My health care policy is changing. Actually, it's been discontinued. My new policy is $9 cheaper and has no co-payment. Great news, right?

Wrong. Beginning August 1, I am responsible for 25% of whatever health care costs I incur. Do the math. If I have a major medical emergency, I will now be on the hook for 25% of some big time costs.

All of this comes as a result of a defensive posture the insurance companies are taking as a result of the Liberal takeover of the American health care system.

Thank you Barry, Nancy and Harry for not listening to what Americans want. Thank you for failing to achieve your own stated goals of insuring more Americans with your bullshit health care legislation.  Thank you, most of all, for ruining my health care coverage.

Harry and Nancy, you both will hear from me very, very soon.  Barry, I'll see you in a couple of years.

fixing the real problem

In today's WSJ, Brian Carney (subscription only) writes the authoritative column on Fannie and Freddie and their role in the 2008 financial collapse.

The Democrats insist Fan and Fred had nothing to do with the meltdown - which is just another lie they've successfully spun, with the aid of the Journolist press -- but how could that be true?

It can't since Fannie and Freddie underwrite almost all new home loans.  They own/guarantee half of all outstanding mortgages.  Democrats say greedy banks were the problem by taking too much risk and making irresponsible loans.

But Carney calls this 'nonsense,' because "Fan and Fred (and the Democrats who control them) distorted the housing and credit markets, took advantage of government guarantees to operate at leverage ratios that would have made Lehman Brothers executives blush and finally, predictably, collapsed under the weight of that leverage and their bad bets on the housing market."

Yet, all the Democrats ever say about Fan and Fred is that they'll get 'around' to fixing them 'eventually.' It reminds me of OJ Simpson promising to search for his ex-wife's "real killers."

running amok

Government is out of control. National, state and local, it's the same story repeating across the country.

A great example: Bell, California, a town of 40,000 people and the city manager makes $787,000 a year. City Council members make over $100,000.

People are revolting. As well they should.

how many liberals does it take to change a lightbulb?

The corrupt liar Harry Reid told a convention of Liberal bloggers in Vegas over the weekend that "We're going to have a public option (on health care) it's just a question of when."

How interesting that Reid would say something like this, considering that the idea of a public option in health care is just as unpopular with the American electorate as he is. And in a private forum, no less.  Notice he didn't scream this from the lecturn on Capitol Hill.

Reid also pledged that Social Security isn't running out of money.  A laughable assertion.  And the stupid Liberal bloggers believed it!

Oh, yeah. That must have been one hell of a convention. Al Franken and Van Jones were guest speakers, as well.

the business of the people

Kudos to House Republican freshman Jason Chafettz of Utah, for urging his colleagues to focus on serious Congressional business and abstain from the trivial memorialization of sports events.
"Every week the House spends a couple of days churning out non-controversial bills. Beyond honoring sports achievements, they name post offices, praise armed service members, mourn distinguished people who've died and recognize historic anniversaries. This year the House has come together to support national pollinator week, national dairy month and national train day.
"Rep. Chaffetz, in an interview, said he's got nothing against recognizing worthwhile causes such as breast cancer awareness, "but there are too many of them and they're just too frivolous." He said he drew the line at sports bills because athletes already get "more than their fair share of accolades."
"Chaffetz sees the resolutions as proof that Democrats are just filling time because of their inability to tackle the larger issues facing the nation."

blogger crackdown?

CNN anchors John Roberts and Kyra Phillips waxed romantically on air about cracking down on anonymous bloggers who disparage other people online? Do these dimwits realize that they're advocating the elimination of Leftist, progressive, netroots, idiots?

Imagine if that happened... The blogosphere would become exclusively Conservative. No more trolls, no more drive-by insulting comments. I could actually get behind this crackdown thing.

doctor, patient, no government

As the United States is being dragged backwards into Socialism, Canada and Great Britain are making great strides forward in decentralizing their National health care systems with a greater focus on local level doctor-patient relationships.

What a concept!

i'd pay to see that

two great stories...

The Democrats are liars, phonies and hypocrites, yet they claim to represent the little guy, which, of course, is yet another lie.

Here are two beautiful examples of the blatant hypocrisy of two very well known Liberals.

Story #1: There's never been a tax hike Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) hasn't voted for or advocated, yet he chooses to dock his new yacht Isabel in Rhode Island not Massachusetts, to avoid paying taxes.

Story #2: Barack Obama is having a big birthday party in Chicago on August 4 and everyone's invited, as long as you pay $30,000.

Yeah, Democrats are the party of the people.

draining the not very transparent swamp

I've been saying for years that Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) should be in jail. He might actually be going now that he's been charged with multiple House ethics violations. There's going to be a trial and everything.

Is this what Nancy Pelosi meant way, way, WAY back in 2006, when she said Democrats would lead "the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history."

cap & tax is dead

And that's a great thing for America. Poor Harry, he couldn't get the 60 votes.

the smearing sarah campaign

Shocking. Journolist coordinated, planned and executed the smear campaign against Sarah Palin.

Tucker Carlson and the Daily Caller are doing God's work for exposing supposedly 'straight' journalists like Jeff Toobin, Joe Klein, Ben Adler, Jonathan Stein, Ryan Donmoyer and Michael Cohen, among others.

Wednesday, July 21

'reprehensible, undemocratic'

And speaking of Journolist, a Journolister, Time Magazine's Michael Scherer (above), is one of nine people who sits on the White House Correspondents’ Association board.

That board will soon decide the news organization that will get the front row seat in the White House briefing room recently vacated by the biased and braindead Helen Thomas.

The inside baseball on this had been that Fox News had the inside track since they are the only TV network with a front row seat.

But Scherer is an outspoken Fox News hater, even positing on Journolist that Fox should be 'regulated' or even 'shut down.  How's that for journalistic ethics? Way to be fair and objective, Mike, you little pansy.

I love it when the light of truth shines brightly. I put my sunglasses on and watch the cockroaches scatter.

It was a super secret place where 300 Leftists planned and coordinated media coverage from 2007 until just last month.

Reverend Wright? Most Americans never heard of him during the all-important 2008 Presidential election.

Think that was an accident? A Liberal media conspiracy? Not anymore, thanks to The Daily Caller.

a stupid president makes stupid mistakes

Obama might very well be a two term President. If he gets a GOP Congress this November, he could pull a Clinton and coast to re-election against an inferior Republican opponent.

But right now, the numbers don't lie. Quinnipiac: Obama doesn't deserve re-election, 48%-40%.

Yes, America's grand democratic experiment has been working nicely since 1776, but America's 'Hope' and 'change' experiment has crashed and burned since 2009.

How inept is Obama? You'd think the first black President would be the authority on race relations? No.
This White House is so polarized and hyper-sensitive to race they fired out a black USDA employer named Shirley Sherrod (above) for making racially insensitive remarks about a white farmer. But then it was discovered that Sherrod's comments had been taken out of context, so they apologized and offered to give her another job.

You couldn't write better comedy than this!

hey, i love modern art, but...

Twenty First Century City
... I'm not sure what I think of David Cameron's gift hanging in the White House.

Maybe this is a gag gift, like the iPod Obama gave the Queen?

Money sent to Missouri Senate candidate Roy Blunt is money well spent. I sent him $50 last week and I strongly suggest you do the same.

the exact opposite of the truth

Remember Seinfeld's Bizarro Jerry episode?

In a parallel universe, both Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden would never be taken seriously.  Instead, they would be marginalized and disrespected as the brain dead anomalies that they truly are, summarily dismissed as lacking in sufficient mental capacity.

But in the fantasy world of so-called 'Democratic' politics -- where the federal government dutifully,  conveniently and gleefully ignore constituent opinion and world reality --  Pelosi and Biden have risen to, God Forbid! Number two and number three in line for the American Presidency.

Oh, the pressure! Even Time Magazine claims the Democrats are "cracking." Dear God, could it possibly be? Do we dare hope, America?

Is Nancy Pelosi, the "Mother of Health Care," as Biden has described her, about to get a foot in her sizable ass, pushing her, at long last, off the national stage?Biden: Pelosi is the 'most strategic'
"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is “the mother of health care,” Vice President Joe Biden proclaimed Monday.

"Speaking at a campaign event in Philadelphia for congressional candidate Bryan Lentz, Biden reworked a line of praise from Rep. Allyson Schwartz, who said Pelosi was the most powerful woman in American politics.

“I would rephrase that: the most powerful person in American politics with the exception of the President of the United States,” Biden said, according to the pool report. “The single most successful, the single most persuasive, the single most strategic leader I have ever worked with is Nancy Pelosi.”

"Biden then pivoted to continue his recent performances bashing Republicans about the economy.

“Today’s Republican Party is repeal and repeat: It is wildly out of step with the American people,” he said. “They want to repeal the progress we’ve made and repeat the policies of the past.”
The past.  Right. The policies of the past were terrible. Less than 5% unemployment, a diligent foreign policy and competent leadership all the way around, in sharp contrast to Obama's flipping and flopping, insulting our allies, trampling on the Constitution, harming the environment, over-stepping his powers, actually spying on Americans. Yeah, Bush wasn't nearly as bad as the Democrats claimed.
“My Republican friends talk about deficits,” Biden said. “For them to talk about deficits is like an arsonist talking about fire safety. I mean, this is bizarre.”
Yeah. You mean the $200 billion deficit Bush left behind? Obama, Biden and Pelosi have ballooned that bad boy into a $1.4 TRILLION deficit. And even if you add the $787 billion TARP, which Democrats love to do to say that Bush was as big a spender, you still come to the conclusion that, in a time of economic slowdown, the Democrats have contributed more to the deficit than they pledged.

Whatever happens this November, the current hard Leftward movement of the country is regrettable and unsustainable.

ignorant damage

Obama says Republicans "lack faith in the American people"?

I guess that's why we advocate tax cuts so that Americans can keep more of what they earn. That's why the mantra of the Republican Party has always been 'personal responsibility.'

The Democrats are the ones who lack faith in you and me.  That's why they want to tell us how to invest (financial reform) and how to stay healthy (Obamacare) and how to buy a house (Fannie & Freddie) and how to consume energy (cap & tax) and what to eat. (Michelle O.)

Republicans think I'm smart enough to figure out all that stuff for myself.

The sad thing is some Americans actually believe what the Magic Negro says.  And it's ignorance, pure ignorance.  And there is no excuse for being ignorant about politics anymore with the Internet.

If you are stupid and vote for bad candidates and are unfamiliar with the issues of the day, it is your fault. Just know that the ignorance that it took in electing Barack Obama president has done (and continues to do) great damage to the country.

Sunday, July 18

the world's biggest moron

Everyone is expecting (and predicting) the Republicans to re-take Congress (yes, the House AND the Senate) in November, even idiot Democrats.

But not Joe Biden.  The Vice President, who has never been correct about a single thing in his political life, is saying that the Democrats will "shock" the country this fall by doing better in the midterms than, well... Never mind.
"I don't think the losses are going to be bad at all," Biden said. "I think we're going to shock the heck out of everybody."
"Biden said he was "confident when people take a look at what has happened since we've taken office in November and comparing it to the alternative, we're going to be in great shape."
"The vice president said he believes the Obama administration will get credit from voters for helping guide the economy out of recession and passing key legislation on health care and financial reform."
This reminds me of the time Biden suggested we partition Iraq into three separate parts.  Yeah, and those Obama policies sure are popular, aren't they? Americans want Obamacare repealed and consumer confidence has fallen.

All Obama does is eat and take vacations.  And lie about policy. And Republicans.

constraining democracy

Every President uses recess appointments.  It's like pulling a fast one on Congress.  Bush did it with John Bolton. But it's rare that a recess appointment comes without any type of Congressional hearings, without the public airing of views.

President Obama's recess appointment of Dr. Donald Berwick to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is a big deal because of the controversial nature of Berwick's beliefs, beliefs that run counter to the great majority of Americans:
"I cannot believe that the individual health care consumer can enforce through choice the proper configurations of a system as massive and complex as health care. That is for leaders to do."
"You cap your health care budget, and you make the political and economic choices you need to make to keep affordability within reach."
"Please don't put your faith in market forces. It's a popular idea: that Adam Smith's invisible hand would do a better job of designing care than leaders with plans can."
"Indeed, the Holy Grail of universal coverage in the United States may remain out of reach unless, through rational collective action overriding some individual self-interest, we can reduce per capita costs."
"It may therefore be necessary to set a legislative target for the growth of spending at 1.5 percentage points below currently projected increases and to grant the federal government the authority to reduce updates in Medicare fees if the target is exceeded."
"A progressive policy regime will control and rationalize financing—control supply."
"The unaided human mind, and the acts of the individual, cannot assure excellence. Health care is a system, and its performance is a systemic property."
"Health care is a common good—single payer, speaking and buying for the common good."
"And it's important also to make health a human right because the main health determinants are not health care but sanitation, nutrition, housing, social justice, employment, and the like."
"Hence, those working in health care delivery may be faced with situations in which it seems that the best course is to manipulate the flawed system for the benefit of a specific patient or segment of the population, rather than to work to improve the delivery of care for all. Such manipulation produces more flaws, and the downward spiral continues."
"For-profit, entrepreneurial providers of medical imaging, renal dialysis, and outpatient surgery, for example, may find their business opportunities constrained."
"One over-demanded service is prevention: annual physicals, screening tests, and other measures that supposedly help catch diseases early."
"I would place a commitment to excellence—standardization to the best-known method—above clinician autonomy as a rule for care."
"Health care has taken a century to learn how badly we need the best of Frederick Taylor [the father of scientific management]. If we can't standardize appropriate parts of our processes to absolute reliability, we cannot approach perfection."
"Young doctors and nurses should emerge from training understanding the values of standardization and the risks of too great an emphasis on individual autonomy."
"Political leaders in the Labour Government have become more enamored of the use of market forces and choice as an engine for change, rather than planned, centrally coordinated technical support."
"The U.K has people in charge of its health care—people with the clear duty and much of the authority to take on the challenge of changing the system as a whole. The U.S. does not."
No wonder Obama doesn't want Americans to hear Berwick. He had to sneak him through, pull a fast one, the same way Democrats rammed Obamacare through Congress against the will of the people.

another power grab

Financial 'reform' passed in the Senate, 60-39. Just another federal government power grab. In fact, it's the biggest expansion of government power since the Great Depression - Hundreds of new rules governing American finance.

Said Sen. Dick Shelby (R-AL):
"It's a 2,300-page legislative monster…that expands the scope and the powers of ineffective bureaucracies."
The fact that three idiot Republicans voted for this garbage - Scott Brown (MA), Olympia Snowe (ME) and Susan Collins (ME) - tells me that I should worry about GOP party unity going into the 2010 midterms.

about time

Wednesday, July 14

where is the media coverage?

Virginia's new Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell has only been in office for six months, but he's taking a big deficit and turning it into a $200 + billion surplus.

And he's done it by cutting spending. See how stupid Liberals are?

Tuesday, July 13

a credibility problem

From the Associated Press:
"The federal deficit has topped $1 trillion with three months still to go in the budget year, showing the lasting impact of the recession on the government's finances.
"In its monthly budget report, the Treasury Department said Tuesday that through the first nine months of this budget year, the deficit totals $1 trillion. That's down 7.6 percent from the $1.09 trillion deficit run up during the same period a year ago.
"Worries about the size of the deficit have created political problems for the Obama administration. Congressional Republicans and moderate Democrats have blocked more spending on job creation and other efforts. Republicans also have held up legislation to extend unemployment benefits for the long-term jobless because of its effect on the deficit."
Obama and his fellow Liberals wants to spend more, not less.  The President was encouraging our allies to spend more, not less.  Europeans Liberals are now beginning to realize the need for austerity programs in the wake of Greece, Spain and Portugal.  Big Liberal government with cradle to grave entitlements are economy-killers.

America has always done the opposite, which is why we have been the globe's only superpower. You've got to question the intelligence of advocates of big, intrusive governments.  Obama and the so-called 'Democratic Party' have zero credibility.

There is little difference between the current crop of elected Democrats in Washington DC and murderers, thieves, rapists and terrorists.

the boss

George Steinbrenner was one of a kind.  I always respected him and his accomplishments.  I also admired how he changed and grew to become a better person.  Good life lessons for all of us.

the green ones

Anti-drilling zealot Obama has assembled an 'offshore drilling commission,' comprised of a bunch of green anti-drilling zealots.  It's a joke.

As is the notion that America can become energy independent without drilling onshore and off. The prescription offered by Liberals -- technology, clean energy, solar, wind, etc -- are emerging industries and incapable of replacing oil.

The dreamworld mentality Democrats bathe themselves in is counter-productive.  More importantly, it's a waste of resources and a waste of time.

How zealous are they? Zealous to the point that five Senators -- Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Mark Udall (D-UT), Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), Tim Johnson (D-SC) and Jean Shaheen (D-NH) are raising concerns.
"I would suggest to my Democratic friends that if the shoe were on the other foot, and President Bush was the President and he had submitted a list of names like this to us and everyone was related to the defense of oil companies, we would say this is not fair," said Landrieu.
Good for Mary and the others. Way to be consistent.

no moratorium

Another legal defeat for the anti-Constitutional, anti law, anti job, anti American, anti-economy Obama administration.  This time the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, a three judge panel, has re-affirrmed another judges' ruling that Obama can't prevent further drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

Why? Because the administration did not prove "a likelihood of irreparable injury if the stay is not granted."

But that's because they can't prove irreparable injury.  And they can't prove irreparable injury because they can't prove irrational, non-sensical Liberal ideology. It's about losing jobs in the Gulf of Mexico, not scoring political points.

The Obama administration doesn't understand anything not having to do with scoring political points.  Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal accused the President of creating a "de facto moratorium" which could cost the state 20,000 jobs."

I've never seen this type of narcissism in sports.

You'd think LeBron James was Michael Jordan, with ten championship rings.  The hype surrounding his choice of a new team and the hour long ESPN hype-fest earlier tonight was just unbelievable, considering James has done nothing in his career. At the high school level. Or the professional level. You wouldn't know it from his arrogance.

James' former boss, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, agrees with me. From
"In the letter posted on the Cavaliers' website Gilbert called the process on James' free agency "narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his 'decision' unlike anything ever 'witnessed' in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment."
I'm glad Gilbert accused James of quitting in the playoffs, because he did.  The series against the Celtics was painful.

In the end, James chose warmer weather, lower tax Florida over cold ass, high tax Chicago and New York.  Sorry Cleveland.

will of the people?

Has there ever been a President with more of a tin ear than Obama? He doesn't care about democracy, public opinion or the will of the people.

Exhibit A, health care.

Exhibit B, immigration reform.

Suing Arizona is stupid and unpopular, but the White House has clearly calculated that the only way to salvage the November midterm elections is to get the blacks and the hispanics fired up. Otherwise, it's a new Republican Majority.

the chicago way?

What's up with the disappearance of Netanyahu's bodyguards' guns? They didn't make the flight from New York to DC for some reason and nobody seems to know why.

Israel claims that four handguns sent ahead of the Prime Minister 'got lost.'  Two bags carrying seven guns in all were sent to DC but ended up in LA.  Then the bags were sent back to Washington by way of Chicago (very strange) and it was then discovered that four guns were missing.

Conspiracy theorist that I'm not wonders what the hell is going on?

big brother

"Perfect Citizen" is the name of the Obama administration's new cyber-counterterrorism program.  Sounds creepily Orwellian, doesn't it?

The 'classified' program, designed by Raytheon, aims to close 'big, glaring holes' in computer infrastructure designed before the internet age, you know, like vulnerable computers that run subways and street lights. That's a good thing.

But P.C. takes the Big Brother scenario even further by placing sensors across the web and allowing for domestic spying. Remember the ACLU Liberals like Obama freaked out when the Bush administration listened in on telephone conversations between terrorists?

Think they'll be silent now that this is an Obama endeavor? And if this is a classified program why the hell are we hearing about it?

obama's fantasy world

Obamanomics is the complete opposite of Reaganomics.  Reaganomics worked brilliantly and Obamanomics is, predictably, failing spectacularly.

In the Liberal fantasy world, hope and change substitute actual policies.  In the Liberal dreamworld, rhetoric replaces experience; ideology trumps logic and common sense.

More than 30 months after the recession started, the economy is still hemorrhaging jobs.

The President gives economics speeches and talks about jobs on the same day as economists pen opinion pieces in American newspapers describing how Obama's economic policies have failed.

The recovery is a year late. Says Peter Ferrara in the American Spectator:
"Two Christmases ago, I feared that by now Obama and his socialist policies would be riding the wave of inevitable recovery, before his policies crashed the economy in what I later called The Coming Crash of 2011. But politically as well as economically, it is all disintegrating faster even than during the Carter Administration, where 1978 was a hopeful year for conservatives that mostly didn't pan out. President Obama is on the same trajectory as President Carter, times some multiplier of Keynesian foolishness."
Newsflash to Obama and his cadre of morons: Government spending does not produce economic growth.

recess appointment

The White House is again playing politics with health care.  Tomorrow, via recess appointment, Obama will make Donald Berwick head of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Berwick is a self-avowed fan of Great Britain's rationed health care model for senior citizens.

True, to form, Obama is blaming Republicans for the recess appointment, instead of being honest about the radical Berwick's slim chances of confirmation.  Btw, Democrats never called a hearing on Berwick's confirmation.

Which is just how illegitimate this recess appointment is. A guy overseeing Medicare and Medicaid should be given a forum so the voters can analyze his views, don't you think?

Make no mistake, this guy is toxic and while his temporary position expires in January, he's still got a lot of time to damage the way my 73 year old Mother receives her medical care.

space case

NASA administrator Charles Bolden (above) says Obama's priority for the agency is outreach to Muslim countries to make them 'feel good about their historic contribution to science'?

Why are Liberals so stupid?

cynical & dishonest racial politics

Attorney General Eric Holder is claiming Arizona's SB 1070 'crossed a line'? What line is that? The federal government claims Arizona 'blatantly' violates the Constitution. How? It doesn't encourage racial profiling as the Obama administration claims.
"Setting immigration policy and enforcing immigration laws is a national responsibility," US Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement.
Damn right it is. But what have the feds done about illegal immigration?

Arizona, over-run with illegal aliens and crimes like murder, rape and kidnapping, decided it had to act to protect its citizens and its way of life.

Arizona acted because the Federal Government has refused to act. Out-of-control, rampant crime in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas is the result of inaction by the federal government.

And now, Obama and Holder, the two guys who refuse to investigate the Black Panthers, are filing suit against Arizona and Arizona's white Governor Jan Brewer in the hopes of rallying Hispanics to vote for Democrats this November.

it is what it is

It turns out that Barack Obama, the Magic Negro, Mr. 'Hope' and 'Change,' Mr. Fifty-Seven states, the post-partisan guy who was going to lower the oceans, stop global warming, cut taxes for 95% of Americans and make the world love us again, is a job killing socialist bent on the destruction of the United States.

"The current occupant of the White House claims to know how to create jobs. He claims jobs have been created. But so far the score is Great Obama Depression 2.2 million lost jobs, Obama 0 -- a blowout.
"Obama is as hopeless, helpless, clueless and bankrupt of good ideas as the manager of the Chicago Cubs in late September. This "community organizer" knows as much about private-sector jobs as Pamela Anderson knows about nuclear physics.

"It's time to call Obama what he is: The Great Jobs Killer. With his massive spending and tax hikes -- rewarding big government and big unions, while punishing taxpayers and business owners -- Obama has killed jobs, he has killed motivation to create new jobs, he has killed the motivation to invest in new businesses, or expand old ones. With all this killing, Obama should be given the top spot on the FBI's Most Wanted List."

justice is black, apparently

What can we possibly make out of Eric Holder's decision to drop the voting fraud/intimidation case against the Black Panthers?

Let's see. Eric Holder is black. The Magic Negro, Barack Obama, the President of the United States, is half black. The Black Panthers are black. Hmm...

J. Christian Adams is my new hero.  A career civil servant, he resigned from the Justice Department as a protest against the type of law Obama and Holder are practicing -- ignoring cases of crimes by blacks against whites.

"We abetted wrongdoing and abandoned law abiding citizens," he testified today before the US Commission on Civil Rights.

the debt crisis

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) reminds us that 'the Declaration of Independence proclaimed that self-government exists in order to secure the rights of the people. As we celebrate America's birthday, it's easy to forget that this experiment in freedom nearly collapsed in its first decade because of a massive debt crisis.

"The wave of debt now bearing down on the U.S. poses no less a threat to our way of life than our first debt crisis did. Can we learn anything from the financial upheavals of the 1780s that might guide us today?"

"Political leaders should meet this crisis with the same seriousness and determination they would bring against an invading army. There are no Madisons, Hamiltons and Washingtons to save us from our folly, nor do we need a new Constitution. Yet the courage, imagination, wisdom and public spirit that provided the founders with the plan to end America's first debt crisis can also supply our needs. We only need leaders who will rise above narrow partisanship to confront our debt challenge and save our exceptional country."

dumb and dumber

Barack Obama on Air Force 1.
The economy sucks. And who's fault is that exactly? The Democrats have been the Majority in Congress since January 2007.

Some people sure are stupid. All you've got to do is cut taxes.

Maybe the Magic Negro will pull his head out of his ass and renew the Bush tax cuts. (Take the CBO data and Joel Slemrod's comments with grains of salt.)

happy fourth of july

Canada is concerned about America.  At least Globe and Mail columnist Jeffrey Simpson is.
"We can only hope that our American friends enjoy their national holiday weekend. Let them wave their flags, enjoy their picnics and show their love of country, because they need a holiday.
"It is disturbing these days for the country’s friends to watch the Great Republic’s politics, to wonder about its economy, to tremble at its deficits..."
Simpson then goes on to scratch his literary head about 'the gifted' President Obama, which follows the well-worn script of Barry Worship that we've been reading for the past three years.

More interesting than the op-ed though, is a comment left about Simpson's piece, by user 'CWWJ,' who clearly gets the reason America is in the pickle we're in.
"I have yet to learn what this "doleful legacy" was that George W. Bush left to the "gifted" President Obama. The financial mess was hardly created by the Bush administration: it was the direct result of legislation passed by the Carter Congress requiring banks to make mortgage loans to non-creditworthy borrowers. The requirements for banks grew even more stringent under both presidents Bush 41 and Clinton. The Bush administration saw the crisis coming and repeatedly warned the Congress that it must pass tougher legislation to control the out-of-control lending habits of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Congressional Democrats (and many Republicans too) simply refused, for purely political reasons. Democrats Barney Frank and Chris Dodd ridiculed the regulators who appeared before their committee asking for greater power to regulate these monstrous entities, glibly saying that their management and lending practices were completely sound. Bush personally warned more than 15 times, beginning in 2003, of the coming crisis, to no avail. Alan Greenspan also joined the chorus. So what were the "Bush policies" that led to the worldwide crisis? None. They were Democrat policies; typical "progressive" ideas that had typical progressive results: calamity. Now this "gifted" president (does a law degree from Harvard and a job as a Chicago community organizer and machine politician make one "gifted?" He is a gifted speechmaker, and now those speeches are sounding as hollow as the poor man himself. By the way, most Americans I know love Canada and Canadians. But we don't want your style of health care, and apparently many of you don't either."
At least there's one smart Canadian. Thank God for that. And God bless America.

while you aren't paying attention...

Whenever you hear the Democrats talk about fiscal responsibility, remember this: They 'deemed as passed' $1.1 trillion in new money that they can begin spending immediately, without the constraints of a budget.

Curious timing, too.  On a Friday night, the first night of a long holiday weekend, when you aren't paying attention. This is sinister stuff the Democrats are doing. Whatever happened to transparency?
"Never before -- since the creation of the Congressional budget process -- has the House failed to pass a budget, failed to propose a budget then deemed the non-existent budget as passed as a means to avoid a direct, recorded vote on a budget, but still allow Congress to spend taxpayer money."
Happy Fourth of July, America!

third in line to the presidency

Does this woman have a brain in her head? Unemployment checks are an incentive?
