85 trips

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi flies back and forth to San Francisco all the time with her family at a cost of $2.1 million.

On military aircraft, no less.

'the children'

Democrats love to invoke 'the children.' It's a guaranteed tug-the-heartstrings comment for the easily manipulated and uninformed electorate.

But what about the children? What about health care? What about lowering costs? What about health insurance for kids with pre-existing conditions?

Obama promised affordable health care for everybody, at a lower cost, but the opposite is actually true.  The Obama administration is letting insurers jack up premiums on everybody, starting with sick kids.

playing politics

Unleashing the IRS and Justice Department on political enemies?

That's what Democrats do.

ten tax increases of obamacare

  1.  A 10 percent excise tax on indoor tanning services (a boon to beach towns everywhere).
  2. Elimination of the tax deduction for employers providing Medicare prescription drug coverage. (This is a big part of why companies like 3M and McDonald's are dropping health coverage for their retirees.)
  3. Doubling the penalty for spending money from your tax-free health savings account for non-health-related purposes (as defined by PPACA), to 20 percent.
  4. Capping the amount that employers can contribute to your tax-free flexible spending accounts (employer-sponsored HSAs), at $2,500 a year (it was previously limited by your employer’s generosity).
  5. Banning the use of funds from HSAs and related accounts for the purchase of over-the-counter medications (now you will have to go to your doctor and get a prescription, a waste of precious health-care resources and doctors’ time).
  6. A 0.9 percent Medicare surtax to wages over $200,000 for individuals and $250,000 for married couples, along with a 3.8% Medicare tax on investment income of these individuals. (The 3.8 percent tax will actually apply to the lesser of unearned income or any excess income above $200,000/$250,000.) Because this tax is applied to pre-tax income, these taxes are equivalent to income tax rate increases of 2 percent and 8 percent respectively.
  7. The ability to deduct itemized medical expenses will begin after you spend 10 percent of your income on medical expenses, instead of 7.5 percent.
  8. The employer mandate, which requires that all business with more than 50 employees offer PPACA-approved health plans to all of their employees, or pay a tax of $2,000 per employee, excluding the first 30 employees.
  9. The “Cadillac tax” on high-value health plans: beginning in 2018, plans costing more than $10,200 for individuals, or $27,500 for families, will be assessed a 40 percent excise tax. Insofar as this tax mimics the elimination of the employer tax exclusion, it is the least offensive of Obamacare’s tax increases, but unfortunately that policy goal—harmonizing the tax treatment of individually-purchased and employer-sponsored health insurance—is neutered by the employer mandate described above.
  10. And last, but not least: the individual mandate, which requires everyone to purchase health insurance, or pay a tax: it starts in 2014 at $95 or 1 percent of gross income, whichever is greater; and maxes out in 2016 at the greater of $695 or 2.5 percent of income.
And people question whether or not this law is 'Constitutional'?

gangsta politics

I'm curious as to why President Obama allows his two young children to listen to rap music that celebrates and glorifies crime and violence. I wonder why, too, he claims to be a fan of said 'music'?

Seems like Obama, a self-styled 'post-partisan leader,' should be above this type of racial garbage both as a father and as a President.

a child vs an adult

t1larg.bushobama.t1largMeanwhile, a new poll by CNN/Opinion Research Corporation finds that by an ultra slim margin, 47%-45%, people believe President Obama is better than President Bush.

That's a -21 point swing from a year ago, by the way, proving that Bush was indeed a great President.

'foreign money'

The Republicans are taking foreign money and using it for the 2010 election campaign? Where's the proof?

If the Republicans are taking money from foreign sources, then the Democrats can't seem to back up the charge. Making accusations all day long doesn't mean much.

By sharp contrast, the Democrats have a lengthy record of taking foreign money: think Clinton/Gore taking Chinese money and think Obama taking cash from Hamas.

anti-american democrats

Democrats are trying to disenfranchise overseas troops.

Of course, they have plausible deniability because Chuck Schumer "blasted" the New York Board of Elections, but c'mon, a deep Blue state like New York? Odds are that the military will be a Republican bunch.

The very idea, the gall, to deny a vote to the very people who insure and make possible our Constitutional freedoms... shows you the kind of people Schumer and his ilk are.

Whatever it takes to win or cheat, that's what Democrats do.

'lowering the sea levels...'

Trying to re-capture some of the 2008 magic, but really? Can that happen after all of the 'hope' and 'change' has been exposed as empty, lame, phony Democratic rhetoric? I don't think so.

Look at this guy,  (above) he looks like a brain dead Liberal voter.

liberal stupidity

The incredibly dense Joe Klein writes about 'anguish' and 'anxiety' in America in the Liberal rag Time Magazine.

Yeah, Americans are poor and scared thanks to so-called 'Democratic' policies like government-run health care, cap and trade, the failed stimulus plan, sky high taxes and deficits.

Clueless Liberal idiots seek to blame Republicans and President Bush but everybody knows that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have run the government since 2007.

10.1% unemployment

Gallup's U.S. Unemployment Rate, 30-Day Averages, January-September 2010
"Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, increased to 10.1% in September -- up sharply from 9.3% in August and 8.9% in July. Much of this increase came during the second half of the month -- the unemployment rate was 9.4% in mid-September -- and therefore is unlikely to be picked up in the government's unemployment report on Friday."

41.8 million

President Obama's singular achievement: Forcing an historical number of Americans to go on food stamps.

So-called 'Democratic' policies fail.

Republican Sharron Angle has pulled ahead of slimeball Harry Reid in the all-important Nevada Senate race, 49% to 46%. (I wonder what kind of October Surprise Reid has in mind for Angle?)

compare & contrast

On the Left, the crowd on the Mall in DC for the Beck rally.  On the right, the Leftist rally this past weekend in DC. Which looks smaller and less attended to you?

'idiot boards'

Former Vice President Walter Mondale worked for Jimmy Carter, so he knows an idiot when he sees one.

Fritz thinks Barry needs to lose the 'idiot boards.' (Minnesota-speak for teleprompter.)  Sure, the President can't communicate without a teleprompter, but of course he's brilliant.

Brilliant my ass.

Reliance on the teleprompter proves Obama is an empty suit. Listen to Barry without his security blanket and he's less articulate than George W. Bush.

politics, empty slogans & bullcrap

I heard a guy today say that the problems Obama has encountered as President are completely racial.

The theory goes that Republicans won't work with Obama because he's black... Obama is unpopular because he's black... The country is racist...

All of which is complete crap. America elected Obama. The country wasn't racist in 2008 but suddenly we're racists in 2010? Obama won traditionally Republican states like Indiana, Virginia and North Carolina.

Obama promised to be the first post-racial President. What the hell happened?

Politics as usual, empty rhetoric, phony sloganeering, lofty promises. The Democrats (and their hyperactive allies in the MSM) capitalized on a war-weary, politically-weary electorate. (an electorate the MSM created, by the way; think "Bush lied, people died.")

A new Gallup poll says that the only Americans who like Obama are black people. An incredible 91% of blacks support Obama, while only 36% of white Americans support the Magic Negro.

The support for the President has fallen across the board.

Young people is down: 57%
Hispanics: 55%
Moderates: 54%
Unmarrieds: 53%
Easterners: 52%
Women: 47%
Midwesterners and Westerners: 45%
Men: 43%
Southerners: 41%
Independents: 40%
Marrieds: 39%
Seniors: 38%
Whites: 36%
Conservatives: 23%

And, wow! Obama enjoys the support of 12% tolerant Republicans. Way to go lying, douchebag, slimeball David Axelrod. That's quite an achievement.

gloria allred is a liberal

This past Tuesday night was the first California Gubernatorial debate between Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman and the former eBay CEO wiped the floor with the guy who was Governor of California 35 years ago.

The Brown campaign must have agreed because the next day along comes ambulance-chasing attorney, Liberal Democrat and longtime Brown associate Gloria Allred trotting out (completely unfounded) illegal immigrations allegations against Whitman's ex-housekeeper, blah, blah, blah.

It must be mere coincidence that the last time the political world heard a peep from Gloria Allred was when she made explosive (and also completely unfounded) sexual harassment charges against eventual Governor Arnold Schwarzennegger.

Also purely coincidental is the fact that all these Liberal groups had anti-Whitman illegal immigration ads in the can when Allred made her allegations. Yeah, no coordination there. And today's debate was sponsored by Spanish language cable network Univision. Wow, can you believe the luck?

Gloria Allred is a Liberal and Liberals lie and slime and attack Republicans during elections because they can't compete toe to toe on policy.

Anyway, today was the second debate  @ Fresno State University, my alma mater, no less. And Whitman correctly accused Brown of dirty tricks.
"Jerry, you should be ashamed," Whitman said. "You and your surrogates put her deportation at risk. You put her out there. You should be ashamed for sacrificing Nicky Diaz on the altar of your political ambitions."
I hope Whitman cruises to victory after this obviously desperate October Surprise.

not as many as beck

The uber Leftist rally today in DC was a bunch of silly, disparate groups demanding jobs, bashing corporations and accusing Republicans of limiting freedoms.

Problem is, none of these people seem to understand that corporations create jobs and provide opportunities. Republican policies increase freedoms and encourage personal responsibility.

Therein lies another problem. These people want hand outs. They want freebies. They want something in return for their support and they want stuff without having to work. No personal responsibility on display today at the One Nation Working Together rally, or whatever the hell they called it.

From the AP:
"More than 400 organizations — ranging from labor unions to faith, environmental and gay rights groups — partnered for the event, which comes one month after Beck packed the same space with conservatives and tea party-style activists.
"Organizers claimed they had as many participants as Beck's rally. But Saturday's crowds were less dense and didn't reach as far to the edges as they did during Beck's rally."
Is it November yet?

Al Gore fails to mention President Barack Obama during Democratic rally in Florida
Al Bore Gore, the fat ass, lying, fraudulent, global warming huckster, campaigned in Florida for Democrat Senate candidate Kendrick Meek and failed to mention President Obama even once.

He got heckled too. Check out the video, an audience of brain dead Liberals.

charles lollar for congress

I love this guy.  Part Tea Party/part Republican candidate Charles Lollar is running against Steny Hoyer in Maryland's 5th Congressional District and he's pushing hard into the entrenched black community and asking for endorsements.
“People value seniority, but the voters of our district have to ask themselves, ‘What have I gotten with Steny Hoyer’s 29 years in Congress?’  The answer is, ‘Not much.’”
Wait, what about the Tea Party being a bunch of racists?  Oops, another Liberal lie.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I've contributed to Lollar's campaign and hope you will do the same. Just click over to the right and find Lollar under RFL 2010 House campaigns. Thank you!

'we're proud of our record'

Speaker (but not for long) Nancy Pelosi claims the Democrats are "proud of our record."

If true, why aren't the Democrats running on Obamacare, Cap & Trade, Stimulus and a host of other wildly unpopular and failed policies?
"NEWSHOUR: I know you believe and you've said the Democrats are going to have a majority in the next Congress. I know you're going to be the next Speaker. But to the Republicans who say John Boehner's going to be the next Speaker, what kind of Speaker would he be?
"SPEAKER PELOSI: Well, you know what? I'm not here to talk about that, because I'm not predicating any conversation on the basis of Democrats not winning the majority. We're proud of our record, we know what the choice is for the future, we have the candidate. The candidate will always tell. Battle tested, courageous, convinced of the fact that nothing less is at stake in this election except the future of the middle class."
Yeah, Democrats care so much for the middle class they LEFT TOWN this week without extending the Bush tax cuts, which means that the middle class might very well absorb A HUGE TAX INCREASE come 1/01/11.

Pelosi and her merry band of Domestic Democratic Terrorists are such liars.
