unserious

Besides the middle class tax chicken crap what else did Queen Nancy do today?

She considered as 'unfinished business' a bunch of stuff like HR 1638 which supports the goals and ideas of National GEAR UP day; HR 1598 which designates the month of October as 'National Work and Family Month"; HR 1576 expressing the sense of the House that a National Day of Recognition for Parents of Children with Special Needs should be established.

Oh, she did some serious stuff, too, like HR 1737 a.k.a., censuring Charlie 'Tax cheat' Rangel after he was found guilty of violating 11 House ethics rules. But the Rangel matter is just a small thing, comparatively speaking, next to all of the big stuff Pelosi and the so-called 'Democratic' party is working on.

Like, what could be more important than designating May as 'Child Advocacy Center Month' as HR 1313 seeks to do?

Ah, the pursuits of the Best and the Brightest. Bottom line, the Democrats waste a hell of a lot of time and a hell of a lot of our money on ridiculous crap like this.

The Republicans are serious people focused on doing serious work on behalf of the country.

What a waste of taxpayers money for our representatives to discuss these meaningless issues. They need to get to work on paying down the national debt, cut spending across the board, create incentives for businesses to grow, and resolve illegal immigration just to name a few!

We'll see if the Republicans are serious when their turn comes around.

I'm a bit discouraged by Speaker-elect Boehner's naming of Hal Rogers and Fred Upton to the chairmanships of Appropriations and Energy, respectively. But it's still early.

On this tax deal, I almost think they'd have been smarter to wait until January to make their move. Why legitimize the lame duck? Let Pelosi play House a few more weeks and then lower the boom on 1/2/11.

Honestly, I'm very upset about Boehner's choice of Rogers. Not a serious choice for reigning in spending.

I'm open to seeing how they do, but...

1. We can't forget seniority. It's how they operate, but...

2. They should have given the Tea Party something. Like name Jeff Flake or Michele Bachmann to Chair a committee. It would have gone a long way.
